One of our favorite South American wineries from the UCO Valley in Mendoza, Argentina is Antucura. We've loved their Cabernet Sauvignon as well as their sparkling Rose. Monica and I opened up a bottle of their newest release the other night, the 2014 Malbec and once again, the wine is absolutely lovely AND stunning for the money.
Intense and brilliant in color with violet reflections. Aromas of ripe red fruit and floral aromas. On the palate, soft and lush with sweet tannins with notes of cherries, blackberries and cassis. If you enjoy grilled meats, game, BBQ, and/or hearty chunks of lasagna, DON'T PASS UP THIS MAJOR WINNER!
Apparently, the wine press agrees:
90 pts. The Wine Enthusiast
90 pts. Wine & Spirits Magazine "Best Buy"
90 pts. James Suckling "Very aromatic and flavorful with dark berry, violet and
blueberry character."
Like the Cabernet Sauvignon a tremendous value!

Introducing for the FIRST TIME: CASARENA SINCO
Casarena (from Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina) has introduced a wonderful blend made of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Malbec and, it's a blockbuster of wine.
The 2014 Sinco is intense with aromas of Asian spices and ripe dark fruits. The palate is bold and complex, full-bodied with an extremely long finish.
92 "Best Buy" - "Casarena is based in two classical regions: Agrelo and Perdriel. Winemaker Bernardo Bossi blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec in a wine that shows a delicious array of fresh red fruit and spice
notes, like pepper and cinnamon. It's gentle enough to drink now yet
structured enough to cellar for another five years."
