Tait Offering -SUPER RARE/HIGHLY RATED CULT AUSTRALIAN REDS from TAIT,nice smooth meaty wines for cooler weather and richer meals.

Happy Friday!

A VERY SPECIAL (AND LIMITED) OFFER!

Throughout the last several years, many of you have purchased and enjoyed the wines from Tait Winery from the Barossa Valley in Australia.  Both The Ball Buster and The Wild Ride have been tremendous success stories with The Ball Buster being the only wine in the world that sells for $20.00 and under to garner eleven consecutive scores of 90 points or higher from Robert M. Parker's  WINE ADVOCATE.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of meeting proprietor and winemaker Bruno Tait while he was visiting Texas and he brought two wines that he produces in very limited quantities that we had never had the opportunity to taste before.  We jumped at the chance to buy everything we could and needless to say, they will go in a hurry.

2008 TAIT BASKET PRESSED SHIRAZ:  It is Bruno's philosophy that all quality wine starts in the vineyard.  The Barossa fruit that he uses is always very low yielding and produces highly concentrated flavors and aromas.  He uses traditional winemaking methods including open fermentation, extended maceration and, basket pressing in his uncompromising pursuit of excellence. Great with game too, by the way.

92 pts. PARKER'S  WINE ADVOCATE: "Very deep garnet colored with a touch of brick, the 2008 Basket Pressed Shiraz offers a complex nose of mulberries, blackberry preserves and dried plums over hints of baking spices, Ceylon tea, tobacco, and sandalwood.  Very full-bodied, big and powerful in the mouth, it offers generous layers of warm berry, dried fruit and baking spice layers supported by refreshing acidity and a medium to firm level of rounded tannins.  The finish is long, spicy and just a little warm.  Drink this one now to 2018."

As mentioned, it is very limited.  We have only 17 six-packs available.                                         DOWN TO 8X6 PACKS NOW AS OF TODAY, FRIDAY.

$49.95 a bottle

2006 TAIT BASKET PRESSED CABERNET SAUVIGNON:  The grapes that make up the 2006 Basket Pressed Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from Tait's own vineyard located in the Barossa Valley.  The vineyard is approximately 80 years old, practically dry grown and hand pruned on clay soils.  The vineyard is visited twice a week during the maturing season to ensure that the fruit is maturing slowly and that water is applied only when necessary.

90 pts. PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2006 Basket Pressed Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 15 months in new French oak and seasoned American oak.  It is purple/black in color with an enticing bouquet of toast, scorched earth, black currant, and blackberry liqueur.  On the palate, this behemoth is full-bodied (16.3% alcohol), layered, corpulent, and mouth-filling.  It should drink well for another six years."

90 pts. International Wine Cellar: "Powerful candied cherry and cassis aromas are brightened by smoky minerals and fresh lavender.  Chewy, youthfully bitter cherry and cassis flavors become sweeter with air, picking up suave vanillin oak spice.  I like this wine's finishing clarity and snap."
