THE TWO STEALS:
WINE # 3: 2012 SILVER PALM CAB-North Coast-$15.95
Bright ruby-red. Blackcurrant, licorice and pepper on the nose. Blackberry, spices and licorice on the palate, with a floral top-note contributing to an impression of lift. Nicely concentrated Cabernet with serious length and plenty of early appeal. Really stunning quality for under twenty bucks!
Winemaker Notes: A rich, concentrated wine, the nose shows ripe cassis fruit with notes of chocolate and cedar. The mouth-feel is plush with a well-structured finish.
Very classy label too with the grey silver palm on the label and the silver cap.

WINE #4 : 2012 EMMOLO SAUVIGNON BLANC-Rutherford Napa Valley-$18.95
Another GREAT deal, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THIS IS A "CAYMUS SAUVIGNON BLANC" BY DEFAULT. Emolo was Jenny Wagner ( the Wagner family started Caymus in 1972 and still farm it and own it ) Italian great grandfather who started vineyards in the 20's and this fascinating project ran and invented by Caymus is dedicated to Jenny's great grandfather .

Young, fresh, fruity, subtle in its nuanced notes of sweet grasses, dried weeds, candied grapefruit and Meyer lemons, this vibrant new wine is equally full of vim and vigor on the palate, and the only caveat we have for the moment is that it will get better and better as it seasons in the bottle over the next few months, and then for a couple of years after that. It is wholly charming yet it is also, as one would expect now, slightly direct in style (IT IS MADE BY CAYMUS AFTER ALL) and a touch youthfully tropical in its crisp and clean finish. This wine will stay high on our radar for months and months
